Make your own buttermilk ranch dressing from scratch in just minutes! With mayo, fresh herbs, and a hint of lemon, it's creamy and packed with bright and zesty flavors. This is the best homemade dressing and ranch dip!
1teaspoonlemon juiceoptional, for a little brightness
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and mayo until smooth. Stir in the fresh herbs, dried onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Refrigerate for an hour or more to allow flavors to meld. Taste for salt and pepper and add lemon juice if desired.
Notes
I don't recommend using a blender for this recipe unless you don't mind the dressing turning slightly green.
Dried herbs equivalents:
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried dill
1 teaspoon dried chives
🌡️Storage
Store leftover ranch salad dressing in an airtight container, like a jar or bottle, in the fridge for up to 5 days. Give it a good shake before using. Freezing homemade ranch makes it grainy and watery once thawed, so I don't recommend it.
