A delcious ground beef and broccoli stir fry recipe that is simple to make. Ready in 20 minutes, this flavorful one-pot dinner recipe is sure to be a family favorite. Serve over rice or keep it low carb and eat with cauliflower rice.
In a large skillet heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the broccoli and bell pepper. Saute the vegetables for 5 to 7 minutes stirring occasionally. Once they are fork-tender but still crisp move to a plate.
While the vegetables cook, whisk together the stir-fry sauce ingredients including the remaining sesame oil, and set aside.
Add more oil to the pan if necessary. Add the onions and saute for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the ground beef. Brown the ground beef, breaking it up into chunks with a fork.
Add the sauce and bring to a simmer. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken. Stir in the vegetables and toss to coat in the sauce. Serve with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Notes
Frozen Broccoli Substitute: If using frozen broccoli do not saute it. Instead, add the red pepper with the onions and beef. Brown the beef and then add the sauce. Add the thawed broccoli and simmer until warmed through.
