Enjoy lemon drop martini with a twist—it's made with blue curacao and my homemade lemon simple syrup for a delightfully sweet and citrusy cocktail. This colorful, flavored vodka will surely brighten up any occasion!
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for 30 seconds of until the outside is frosted. Strain into a martini glass and serve with a lemon slice.
Lemon Simple Syrup
Use a small paring knife to remove the yellow part of the peel avoiding the bitter white pith. Set the zest aside.
Place a small saucepan over heat medium-low heat, add the granulated sugar. and lemon juice. Gently stir until the sugar has dissolved completely about 3 to 5 minutes. Once dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the lemon zest. Allow the syrup to steep for up to 30 minutes. Strain the syrup.
Notes
It takes about 3 lemons to make ½ cup of fresh lemon juice. You can also use bottled lemon juice
The syrup should be enough for 4 drinks.
Storage Instructions: Transfer the syrup to a clean glass jar or other airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to a month. This syrup can also be frozen.
