A splash of blueberry syrup makes cocktails, mocktails and more extra special. Just a few minutes and a couple of ingredients and you will be ready to add a blueberry twist to your drink!
Add all ingredients to a saucepan. Lightly crush blueberries with a potato masher or the back of a wooden spoon.
Place over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure the sugar dissolves the blueberry breaks down.
Remove the pan from the heat. To maximize the syrup yield, puree with an immersion blender. Strain through cheese cloth and/or a mesh strainer. Cool to room temperature before using.
Notes
If using frozen blueberries thaw first.
Syrup can be stored for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
