A light, floral twist on the classic French 75 cocktail. This Lavender French 75 recipe uses my delicate lavender simple syrup and Empress gin for a beautifully balanced, subtly sweet, and stunningly purple drink.
Fill a cocktail shaker about halfway with ice. Add the gin, simple syrup, and lemon juice to the shaker. Add the lid, and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds, or until the outside is frosted over.
Remove the lid and strain into a coupe glass or champagne flute. Top with Prosecco and a fresh lemon twist.
Lavender Simple Syrup
Combine the water and 1 cup granulated sugar in a saucepan, stirring over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
Remove the sugar mixture from the heat and stir in the lavender flowers. Set aside to let steep for about 15 minutes. Once steeped, strain through a fine mesh strainer and allow to cool for another 15 minutes.
Notes
Empress gin will give your lavender cocktail a purple hue. Without it, expect the cocktail to be much lighter in color.
Storing Leftovers
Store leftover syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
