Demerara Syrup Old Fashioned
Demerara syrup old fashioned is a blend of the rich flavors of bourbon and the distinct sweetness of demerara sugar. Savor every sip of this cocktail with friends and family!

Ingredients

bourbon
whiskey or rye
▢

dashes of Angostura bitters
▢
¼
ounce
rich demerara syrup
▢
1
orange twist
for garnish
Demerara Syrup
▢
½
cup
demerara sugar
▢
½
cup
water
Instructions
In a glass (or cocktail shaker) stir together the whiskey, syrup, and Angostura bitters.
Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube, and garnish with an orange peel twist.
Demerara Syrup
Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Do not bring the water to a boil. Cool before using.
Notes
Demerara syrup will keep, refrigerated, for one month. Adding a small amount of vodka (< 1 teaspoon) will extend the shelf life.
