Meet Jen Wooster

Jen has a BSBA and an MBA from The Ohio State University. She is a retired operations executive. She officially started Peel with Zeal in 2017 and Easy Gluten Free Desserts in 2025.

She has developed over 700 recipes for her websites and clients.

Jen was a featured blogging expert and speaker at the Tastemaker Food Blogging Conference.

My goal is to help you cook big flavor on busy days with approachable techniques and smart sauces. Everything I share is gluten‑free and always crowd‑approved.

My Culinary Perspective

  • Bold, balanced, doable: Cajun spice, harissa heat, and garlic‑butter richness brightened with citrus and herbs.
  • Savory first: easy dinners, sides with contrast, and sauces that make leftovers worth eating.
  • Clear, tested recipes: step photos, ingredient notes, and honest timing so your results match mine.

A Little About Me

Before starting Peel with Zeal, I worked as an operations executive-but I found my creative side in the kitchen. Cooking became the way I blended organization with experimentation.

My Favorite Recipes

  • A pair of tongs holds a piece of chicken coated in white sauce above a bowl, with more chicken and plates in the background.
    Grilled Alabama BBQ Chicken
  • Plate of sweet chili salmon garnished with sesame seeds and cilantro, served alongside rice and a refreshing cucumber salad.
Sweet Chili Salmon with Cucumber Salad
  • Bowl of mashed potatoes topped with shredded cheddar cheese, sliced green onions, and black pepper, with a spoon resting inside.
    Smoked Cheddar Grits
  • A salad with greens, sliced nectarines, red onions, toasted rice, and fresh basil leaves arranged in an oval dish.

His favorite recipes are San Marzano Tomato Sauce and the smoky corn ribs.

We also regularly foster dogs, and I am known for my homemade dog treats.

An adventurer at heart, I love to travel and stir up new adventures. I hiked the entire Appalachian Trail Southbound from Maine to Georgia. And has hiked 1500 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Greetings!

My name is Jen Wooster and I am the recipe developer, writer, and photographer around here.  Cooking is an art, but so is making bad food puns. I excel at both.
