🧾How to Make Your Own Oat Flour
Oat flour is a whole grain flour made by grinding whole oats in a blender or food processor. It literally only takes a few minutes and is significantly cheaper than buying bagged oat flour.

Store oat flour in an airtight container at room temperature for several months.
🧾Is Oat Flour Gluten-Free?
While oats are technically gluten-free, the growing and processing of oats leads to contamination with gluten-containing grains.
Out flour is gluten-free when certified gluten-free oats are used. I find it easier to make homemade oat flour.
While oats are naturally gluten-free but often cross-contaminated making the certification imperative if gluten is a concern.
Now let's get to our favorite oat flour recipes- they are mainly gluten-free (GF). I have marked "V" for vegan and "DF" for dairy-free too.

25 Easy Oat Flour Recipes (Sweet and Savory)
Instructions
- Place oats in a food processor (or a blender) and pulse the oats until they are ground into a powder-like consistency. This process should take about 60 to 90 seconds.2 cups old fashioned oats
- Stop and stir to ensure that all the oats have been finely ground. Pulse until again, if needed.
Notes
- Scale up or down the recipe as needed
- 1 cup of rolled oats will yield ¾ cup of oat flour.
- Store extra flour in a labeled air-tight container for up to 3 months
- Recipe is gluten-free only when certified gluten-free oats are used
- Use whole or steel-cut oats. Quick-cooking or instant oats should not be used to make oat flour.
