This strawberry shake recipe is somewhere between a smoothie and a milkshake. It is gluten, dairy, and sugar-free.  It tastes super treat-ish but feels good while being good for you. Who doesn’t love a win-win?

It’s the fourth of July. It is hot. Like really hot. You need to cool down, it is holiday so you want a special treat, it is still bikini season and you want to keep it healthy…. You want this delicious Strawberry Tahini Shake!

It is holiday week so let’s keep this strawberry tahini shake post short. Put ingredients in a blender. Blend until thick, creamy and smooth.  Enjoy!

Oh you wanted more details? Fine….

I am still determined to make this post short. We have a parade and fireworks to worry about. Also, dogs. Dogs and fireworks do not mix. So we are whipping up this frozen treat for us and this frozen dog treat for them. We figure everyone deserves a calm and realizing fourth!

How to Make our Vegan Strawberry Shake

Here is goes…the details behind our super yummy strawberry tahini "milk"shake….

ingredients for strawberry tahini smoothie on a counter

Like all recipes, we need the right ingredients. Let's start with the fresh fruit.

Either the strawberries or the banana needs to be frozen, but just one. Your perfectly textured milkshake depends on this. A very ripe banana yields the perfect sweetness. Not to mention it takes the pressure of having to bake banana bread because you don't want to waste produce.

Next we need to add creaminess. I love macadamia nut milk in this milkshake. Macadamia nut milk isn't great for savory treats but we love it in sweet bakes and smoothies.

If you use a different nondairy milk, like Hemp or Soy, you may want a splash of vanilla extract. Macadamia nut milk has a vanilla undertone so none needed.

P.S. we love this stuff and no this isn't a sponsored post!

Adding to the creaminess of this shake is the tahini. Tahini is nutty but not sweet like nut butters. Peanut butter is not tahini.  Don’t even think about it. That is a different recipe for a different time.

A pinch of salt, no other seasoning.

Again, blend and done. Happy?  Take a sip- you are extremely happy.

While you could eat this for breakfast, I most enjoy it as a dessert following our lemony artichoke filled Mediterranean Zoodles. But go ahead drink strawberry tahini shakes for breakfast, and lunch, and dessert. No one will judge!
