This creamy sauce is a delicious complement to corned beef, prime rib, or even roasted ham. You can even slather it on your burgers or chicken sandwiches to boost the flavor!
The best part is you can make it a few days ahead, so it's one less thing to stress about, especially if you're making it for holiday gatherings and special occasions.
📖Why My Recipe Works
Using sour cream helps create a rich and creamy base that balances the bold flavors of horseradish. It pairs perfectly with hearty dishes like prime rib, steaks, or tenderloins.
🧾Ingredient Notes
- Prepared Horseradish- Substitute with fresh horseradish root, peeled and grated. Note that it will have a stronger flavor than store-bought prepared horseradish. You may want to add an extra splash of lemon juice for more zing.
- Dijon Mustard- Adds a sharp, tangy, and mildly spicy flavor.
- Sour Cream- For a thick and creamy base. You can also use Greek yogurt or heavy cream.
- Fresh Chives- Swap with fresh dill, parsley, or tarragon.
⏲️How to Make Horseradish Mustard Sauce

👩🏻🍳 Expert Tip
