My creamy white bean dip is the kind of quick appetizer that feels way more impressive than it has any right to be. Made with canned white beans, fresh lemon juice, and garlic, it comes together in about 10 minutes. But the real magic is that warm honey garlic drizzle spooned over the top.

It's smooth, bright, and just bold enough to keep you coming back for another scoop. Whether you're building a snack board, prepping a quick spread for wraps, or just need something scoopable for an unleavened flatbread, this easy white bean dip delivers without overthinking it.
📖Why My Recipe Works
I used canned beans for ease, but added both lemon juice and zest to keep things from tasting flat. To give it my signature big flavor twist, I added a honey garlic drizzle for a little pizazz.
🧾Ingredient Notes
- White Beans - Cannellini or great northern beans both work. A low-sodium version will give you better control of seasoning.
- Lemon - You need a fresh lemon for this recipe.
- Garlic - Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
- Honey - This would be a great opportunity to use garlic fermented honey!
- Crushed Red Pepper Flakes - Optional, or try a sprinkle of harissa seasoning.
- Garnish - Chives, green onions, or parsley.

⏲️Tips for Making White Bean Dip

- Let the food processor run longer than you think you need. White beans transform with time, and that extra minute is the difference between slightly grainy and completely silky.
- If the dip feels too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time.

- For the topping, keep the heat of the pan moderate. The garlic should be lightly golden and crisp, not browned.
- For a spicy twist, swap the pepper for chili crisp.

White Bean Dip Using Canned Beans
Cover dried white beans with water and let them soak overnight. Short on time? Use a quick soak: boil for 2 minutes, then let sit for 1 hour. Drain the beans, then add them to a pot with fresh, lightly salted water. Simmer for about 45-60 minutes. You can also follow the method from my slow cooker black beans.

Common Recipe Questions
Yes! A high-speed blender works great. If you don't have either, you can mash the beans with a fork or a potato masher. The dip will be a bit more rustic, but still delicious.
